Ice Tunnel Tour on Langjökull Glacier

On this ice tunnel tour, we will take you to the second biggest glacier in Europe Langjökull to see this amazing ice tunnel, which was built in 2015. Tourists will get to see this man-made ice tunnel and caves from the inside with beautiful blue ice. Langjökull glacier has an area of about 950 km² and most of it rises between 1200 and 1300 m above sea level. It rests on a massif of hyaloclastite mountains. In the summer months (May to September), we will take tourists to the base camp Klaki where they will be taken to the glacier by a monster truck and back. In the winter months (October to April) the monster truck will take tourists to the glacier from Húsafell and back.

We will visit Hraunfossar and Barnafoss in the morning before heading to the glacier. After the ice tunnel tour, we will visit Deildartunguhver Hot Spring before heading back to Reykjavík.

Hraunfossar Lava Waterfall: a series of waterfalls formed by rivulets over a distance of 900 meters, out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field which flowed from an eruption of a volcano under the glacier of Langjökull. This waterfall is unique and offers you stunning and amazing views of the waterfall.

Barnafoss Children´s Fall: Just a stone up the Hraunfossar Lava Fall is the Children´s Fall. According to legend Barnafoss takes its name from two children who fell into the waterfall.
